Research draws your published videos as points in space. Videos about similar things sit near each other, so the shape of the cloud is the shape of what you make: dense where you have covered a subject often, sparse where you have barely touched one.
Reading a point
Three things are encoded, and they answer three different questions.
- Colour is what the video was for: Reach, Grow or Earn. Every video of a goal is the same colour whatever it scored, so colour never doubles as a verdict.
- Height is performance, read against the median line for your own catalogue. Above the line did better than your usual; below it did worse.
- Size and glow mark a breakout. A point only starts growing once it is well clear of your median, so an ordinary video looks ordinary.
The selector at the top decides which goal the height is measured against. The same video can sit high under one goal and low under another, because it is being asked a different question each time.
Where enough of your videos cluster together, the map names the cluster. Those names are derived from the videos in them, not from a fixed list of categories.
Narrowing what is on screen
The filter menu cuts the map down without redrawing it:
- Performance: everything, only what is under your median, only what is over it, or only the strong ones.
- Platform: the figures for one connected platform rather than the combined total.
- Published: the last month, three months, year, or everything.
The map opens on a recent window, so a catalogue whose last upload is older than that can look empty until you widen it. Terano AI tells you when that is what has happened, rather than leaving you on a blank canvas.
Show benchmark creators is off by default. Turning it on adds comparable creators' published videos to the same space, so you can see where your work sits next to theirs.
The row is only offered under the Reach goal. Under Grow and Earn there is no honest height to put another creator's video at, we do not have their loyalty or revenue figures, so rather than draw a dot at an invented height, the option is not shown at all. Switch back to Reach and it returns, with your choice as you left it.
The map shows one format at a time, short or long, and shares that choice with the idea deck.
What to do with a point
Select a video and its record opens: where it is published, with a link to each post, and tabs for its top comments, its retention curve, and how its views have grown since it went up. From there you can jump straight into that video's script.
You can also select several videos and carry them to Ideas. The idea deal that follows is grounded in exactly what you carried, which is how you turn "this cluster works for me" into cards about it.
