Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data Terano LLC (テラノ合同会社) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It covers the Terano AI platform, this website, and our professional services engagements.

1. Who we are

Terano LLC (テラノ合同会社) is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Representative: Elder Norman Ripper V Registered address: Room 401, 4F BIZcircle Shinjuku-kuyakusho-mae, 1-2-3 Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0021, Japan

You can reach us through the contact form at https://teranoai.com/about#contact.

2. What we collect

Account data: your name, email address, password hash, and the organisations you belong to.

Content you create: video ideas, scripts, calendar entries, briefs, and uploaded assets.

Connected platform data: profile and video data from the social platforms you choose to connect. Section 3 describes this in full.

Usage data: requests you make to the service, recorded for security, billing and debugging.

Billing data: subscription plan, token usage, and invoices. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

3. Data from connected platforms

Connecting a platform account is always optional and always initiated by you. Terano AI reads from your connected accounts; it will never upload, edit or delete content on TikTok, YouTube or Instagram. We request only the permissions needed for the features you use, and you can disconnect at any time. Disconnecting asks the platform to revoke our access token and always deletes the stored connection credentials and local connection record; data previously imported from that platform is handled through an erasure request. When an erasure request is fulfilled, we destroy the per-person encryption keys for retained security audit records, permanently rendering their personal fields unreadable. Billing records that must be retained are pseudonymised.

TIKTOK Permissions requested: user.info.basic, user.info.profile, user.info.stats, video.list Profile data stored: open_id, username, display name, avatar URL, follower count, following count, total likes, video count. Video data stored: video id, title, description, creation time, cover image URL, share URL, view count, like count, comment count, share count. Purpose: to show your published videos and their performance inside Terano AI and to analyse what performs well for you. Terano AI has read-only access to your TikTok account and cannot post, edit or delete content. Use of TikTok data also follows the TikTok Developer Terms.

YOUTUBE Permissions requested: youtube.readonly, yt-analytics.readonly, yt-analytics-monetary.readonly Data stored: channel profile, video metadata, transcripts of your videos, and analytics such as views, watch time, retention curves, and per-video revenue where YouTube Partner Programme access applies. Purpose: to import your back catalogue and analyse retention, performance and earnings. Every permission above is a read permission. Terano AI has read-only access to your YouTube account: it cannot upload, edit or delete your videos, ratings, comments or captions, and contains no code that can. We previously also requested youtube.force-ssl, a broader write-capable scope, solely because the YouTube captions API required it; we no longer request it. If you connected before 21 August 2026 your existing grant may still include it — reconnecting, or visiting the Google permissions page below, clears it. YouTube's own terms apply to your use of these features: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy You can revoke Terano AI's access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

GOOGLE DRIVE Permissions requested: drive.file, openid, email What drive.file means: we can only see and manage the specific files you pick or that Terano AI creates. We cannot see the rest of your Drive. Purpose: to store and retrieve the video assets you choose to keep in your own Drive. This is the only place Terano AI writes on your behalf, and only inside folders you have chosen.

Terano AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train generalised AI models, do not sell it, and do not transfer it except as needed to provide features you have asked for.

INSTAGRAM Permissions requested: instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_manage_insights, instagram_business_manage_comments Data stored: business profile details, media metadata, and insights such as reach and engagement. Purpose: to show your published content and its performance in Terano AI. Terano AI has read-only access to your Instagram account and cannot publish, edit or delete content.

Performance data obtained through these connections is also shown to other Terano AI creators, for videos you have published, as described in “What other creators can see”.

4. How we use AI, and what we send to AI providers

Terano AI uses large language models to analyse content and generate ideas, scripts and briefs.

To do this we send text to third-party AI providers: Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). The text sent includes the video titles and descriptions imported from your connected platforms, transcripts, and the content you write in the product.

Voice input: when you dictate a script or speak to the AI assistant, the recorded audio itself — not just a transcript of it — is sent to Google (Gemini). Dictation audio is sent purely for transcription; audio sent to the AI assistant also lets the model hear tone and context directly, alongside a transcript we keep for search. We do not retain the audio itself on our servers — each clip is processed and discarded once the request completes.

We also convert this text into numerical embeddings so the product can find similar content. Embeddings are stored on our infrastructure.

We do not permit these providers to use your content to train their general-purpose models.

5. Analysing content, including other creators'

Some features analyse a video you point us at — a link you paste to the assistant, or a file you attach. That video may be your own or another creator's public post.

For a YouTube link, the video is fetched by Google (Gemini) directly and we never hold a copy. For a file you attach or a direct video link, we pass the media to the AI provider for the length of the request and do not store it afterwards.

What we keep is the assessment, not the media: a description of what the video is about, how it is put together, and the emotional shape of it. We use that to advise you, and — where it came from published content — to inform advice we give other users. We never expose your unpublished work, your drafts or your ideas to another user. The performance data of videos you have published is shared with other creators inside Terano AI — see “What other creators can see” below.

Attachments are processed for the single message you send them with. We do not retain the file, and it is not added to any account's library.

6. What other creators can see

Terano AI exists so that creators can learn from each other’s real results, and that only works if the results are actually visible. By creating an account you permit us to show other Terano AI creators the performance data of videos you have published to a social platform. That includes the private analytics we obtain through your connected accounts — such as retention curves, impressions and click-through rate, audience demographics, traffic sources and watch time — alongside the public figures anyone can see.

Only published videos. A video is published once it is live on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Anything unscheduled, in progress, or never posted to a platform is never shown to another creator, and neither is anything in your idea deck or idea bank.

Only inside Terano AI, only to other creators. This data is visible to signed-in Terano AI creators inside the product. We do not publish it, we do not sell it, and we do not pass it to brands, agencies, advertisers, data brokers or any other party outside the product. It leaves Terano AI only where the law requires it.

Never your commercial data. Your earnings and revenue, your brand deals and sponsorships, your affiliate arrangements, and your offerings and how they perform are never shown to another creator — regardless of whether the video they relate to is published.

Nothing here grants another creator any right in your work. They can see what your published videos did; they gain no licence to the videos themselves.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our instructions:

Google Cloud Platform — hosting, databases and file storage Anthropic — AI text analysis and generation Google (Gemini) — AI text analysis and generation Stripe — payment processing and card handling

We may also disclose data where required by law.

8. How we protect your platform credentials

Access tokens and refresh tokens for connected platforms are encrypted before they are stored, and are never returned by our API — not to you, not to anyone else in your organisation.

We never ask for, and never store, your password for any connected platform. All connections use each platform's official OAuth flow.

9. How long we keep things

Account and content data: for as long as your account is open, and deleted when you delete your account or ask us to erase it.

Connected platform data: deleted when you disconnect the platform or delete your account.

Request logs: 60 days, then deleted automatically.

Records of security-critical actions: 7 years, as required for audit. These are encrypted per person, and an erasure request destroys the key — which permanently renders the record unreadable.

Billing records: retained as long as tax and accounting law requires.

10. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to processing or ask us to restrict it.

Request a copy: https://teranoai.com/data-request?kind=access Request erasure: https://teranoai.com/data-request?kind=erasure

We respond within 30 days. You can also withdraw a platform connection at any time from your Terano AI settings, without contacting us.

On erasure, we destroy the per-person encryption keys for retained security audit records so their personal fields become permanently unreadable. Billing records that must be retained are pseudonymised.

11. International transfers

Terano LLC is established in Japan. Our infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform, and our AI providers are based in the United States.

This means your data may be processed outside your own country. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

12. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, and — with your consent — analytics cookies.

Our cookie notice explains each one and how to withdraw consent: https://teranoai.com/cookies

13. Children

Terano AI is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data in a way this policy does not already cover, we will tell you and ask you to accept the updated policy before the new use begins.

We keep previous versions of this policy and can provide them on request.

We use cookies to understand how visitors use our site. Analytics cookies load only if you accept. Learn more
